Mactau is a collective UTAU group.

History[]

Macloid is an unofficial name given to the MACNE Series or derived voicebanks for the GarageBand and Reason software by pitching their samples to make a song. They are capable of being ported into UTAU and UTAU-Synth.

These voicebanks have to be purchased from their site, Macne.net. Nana and Petit's voicebanks have been retired due to their 2S release. There is no information yet whether either Cocos nor Papa will be getting a 2S. More recent voicebanks like Whisper Angel Sasayaki, or Macne Nana 2S come with a pre-made oto.ini (it'll have to edited by the user as it is not well-made), character image, and other various files to help with importing them into UTAU. Since Macne Nana's release, all voicebanks put out for sale have a tripitch bank, meaning a high, middle and low pitch for a wider range of usage.

Mactau voicebanks[]

Mactau are original characters based upon the idea of "The VOCALOID for Mac", despite them being used in UTAU. Their designs are based upon Apple Products or simply following the official MACNE family dynamics created by the artist, Gomoku.

The name, Mactau, comes from the combination of the word Mac, which comes from Apple's line of Macintosh devices, and UTAU, the software that most of these characters are made for. While the term was created for personal use it became adopted by the UTAU community.[1]

Mactau is spelled as "Mactau". Neither Mac nor UTAU are written in uppercase (ex. MACtau or MACTAU).

MAKU音[]

The family name MAKU音 (Makune) belongs to MishaRoute of deviantART; creation of a Mactau character with this family name should be consulted with her beforehand. Makune Hachi, Ichiro, Mami were created before the term Mactau was popularized.

MACK音[]

Also known as members of the Project Eppalloid. Mackne Kyou and Kioshi were created before the term Mactau was popularized.

マコ音/Macsu音[]

Eku2013

Makoto Eku

Eku's family name during his initial debut was Macsu音 (Macsune), he had his parents Macsune Kyano and Macsune Ne and a sister Macsune Lala who received a voicebank. Their family name was soon after updated to マコ音 (Makoto). Macsune Lala became Makoto Yue and would cease distribution soon after while Makoto Eku would later on drop the Makne-inspiration from his character and re-debut as "Ezekiel". His creator, Misha would go on to create two new Mactau with the family name "マクーン音" (Macounne), Macounne Taro and Macounne Mion.[2][3]

Macヒ[]

MAKGU音[]

MAGU音[]

MAC音[]

Not necessarily related to each other, these are characters who share the same exact last name as the Macne Family but are not officially recognized by MI7.

Note: This is not a comprehensive list and only covers some Mactau Families featured on the UTAU Wiki. Due to user creation capabilities, the total number of Mactau voicebanks is indefinite. See the Macloid Wiki for more information and available voicebanks.
