History

With the rising anti-Japan movement in China in 2010, Vip@2ch users planned to fight back with a moe character by joke. The term 日本鬼子 (rì bĕn guǐ zǐ), the worst kind of insult meaning "demonic Japanese" in Chinese language, was a common apperance in the demonstrations. But 鬼子 carries much less negative point in Japanese language, so they created a moe character by the name and tried replacing the usage of the term in the cyberspace. Illustrations were recruited publicly and the final design art was decided on November 1, 2010. The voicebank was finally on distribution on Dec. 25 of the year.
